70 C.E. The war between the Earth Alliance and the space colony based Zodiac Alliance for Freedom Treaty (ZAFT) has sunken into a bitter stalemate. In the neutral nation of Orb, a young Coordinator named Kira Yamato witnesses a ZAFT strike team assaulting an Alliance base to steal newly created Gundams. Forced to pilot the Strike Gundam to defend his home, Kira strives to protect his friends even as the horrors of war threaten to destroy all he knows.
